Restorative Yoga
Yin/Restorative Yoga is a slow-paced practice done on the floor in which postures are held for approximately 3-5 minutes; this is what makes yin different from the more common flow styles of yoga. Specifically, yin/restorative yoga stretches muscles more deeply and thus revitalizes the joints, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue of the spine, hips, and pelvis which allows students to experience greater mobility over time. In yin, as you connect breath and stretching, you’re encouraged to tune in to your body and ease into the deepest expression of the posture that is most suitable for your body at the moment. Yin is appropriate for students of all levels and complements any other style of yoga, exercise, or sports.
